Authors: Walter Irwin and G. B. Love
Average review score:

The Best of Trek #3
This was a pretty good book if you like background information. I am more of a story kind of person. I did really enjoy the sections about Sulu's and Spock's histories, and the geneology of the Star Trek characters. I am an amateur chronologists, so these were really helpful to me in placing unknown events into their backgrounds. The book is a little out of date and not everything matches up up perfectly, but what can you expect when the articles were published around 1979?

If all you are looking for is stories and adventures, this book has none. It is strictly articles.

Business Law and the Regulatory Environment: Concepts and Cases (Irwin Legal Studies in Business Series)
Published in Hardcover by Richard d Irwin (November, 1900)
Authors: Michael B. Metzger, Jane Mallor, and Thomas Bowers
Average review score:

A good law book
The first time laid my eyes on this book; to tell you the truth I was a bit frightened. I was expecting a very complex law book that would take me more than one pass over the material in order for me to get the material. This was not the case, the book really made the subjects easy to understand and the writers made the book very easy to read. The tables and diagrams also make the book even better for those of us that are more of the visual learner types. I would recommend this book.

Buy or Sell Real Estate After the 1997 Tax Act : A Guide for Homeowners and Investors
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (January, 1998)
Author: Robert Irwin
Average review score:

Suitable as an introduction
This book can serve as an introduction to taxes as related to real-estate transactions. It is a quick and easy read, and seems to be targeted at the least sophisticated possible investor. It does a good job of explaining the major points of the new tax laws, and is filled with short examples. (In my opinion, at least half the examples are so simple that they should be eliminated, for they illustrate nothing beyond what can be said in a single simple sentence). However, any slightly sophisticated investor will need more than this book can offer. The strategies offered are seldom beyond the obvious and unattractive ones (e.g. move into your intended for-sale property 2 years before selling, then do that over and over). In short, an easy read as an introduction, but leaves you wanting more.

Canadian Tire Cash Bonus Coupons (2nd Edition) - The Charlto
The book is very good and my husband uses it a lot. The only thing to complain about is that it is eight years old and this is a book to rate Canadian Tire money so there are a lot of bills that are not rated in the book.

Communicating With Asia: Understanding People and Customs
Published in Paperback by Allen & Unwin (July, 1996)
Author: Harry Irwin
Average review score:

Good book if you're interested in Asian cultural practices
This book would be a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the cultural basis of Asian business and social practices. I used this book in a course I taught on East Asian international relations at the introductory undergraduate level, and it was a little too much for them. It would be more appropriate for an advanced college class in intercultural communication. The theoretical framework is mainstream intercultural communications, and as such is very good and thorough. The author does take an Australian view, however, so Americans and others might find a little less than they are looking for if they are seeking business tips. If you are interested in doing business with China, or just in Chinese cultural practices, I would suggest Yanan Ju, Understanding China (State University of New York - Albany Press).

Consumer Behavior: Building Marketing Strategy (Irwin/McGraw-Hill Series in Marketing)
Published in Hardcover by McGraw-Hill Higher Education (19 August, 1997)
Authors: Del I. Hawkins, Roger J. Best, Kenneth A. Coney, and David F. Hawkins
Average review score:

Great college text: Clear, concise and relevent
If you're interested in Consumer Behavior, grab this book. The writers of Consumer Behavior seem to have the student of all ages in mind. For both undergraduate to MBA programs, I felt the content (from case studies to psychological buyer behavior), lives up to its name.

The premise of the book: how understanding buyer behavior influences overall strategy.

If you're looking for a self-tutorial in Consumer Behavior, this is it.
